Rose Marie Unice Ferris, 92, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Wednesday morning, February 27, 2008, in the LaFayette Manor Nursing… Rose Marie Unice Ferris, 92, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Wednesday morning, February 27, 2008, in the LaFayette Manor Nursing Center.
She was born September 7, 1915, in Welch West Virginia, the daughter of the late George Unice, Sr. and Helena Gabriel Unice.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Simon Ferris, her sons, Simon R. Ferris and Donald D. Ferris, her sisters, Mary Rozgony Catherine Miller, Ann Burnworth and Agnes Mauser and her brothers, Joseph Unice, George Unice and Tom Unice.
Rose was a member of Saint George Maronite Catholic Church, The Ladies Guild and the Altar Rosary Society. She was previously employed for 17 years as the Kitchen Supervisor at the LaFayette Manor Nursing Home.
She is survived by her son, Thomas “Tucker” Ferris and wife, Marie of Uniontown; her grandchildren: Brent Ferris and wife, Teri, Lisa Kushnar and husband, Randy, David Ferris and wife, Valerie, Craig Ferris, Dianna DiGeronimo and husband, Victor, Dana Dawes and husband, Bill and Clinton T. Ferris and wife, Heather; her great-grandchildren: Taylor Ferris, Brent Ferris, William Kushnar, Simon Kushnar, Vincent Ferris, Dominic Ferris, Jessica Ferris, Ryan Ferris, J.P. Sorma, Victor DiGeronimo, Tucker Dawes, Dallas Dawes, Morgan Ferris and Cameron Ferris. Rose is also survived by her daughters-in-law: Connie Ferris of Uniontown and Pat Ferris of Cleveland, Ohio; brother-in-law, Raymond Miller; sister-in-law, Devona Unice; numerous loving nieces and nephews and a special friend, Barbara George of Uniontown.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown on Saturday, March 1, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2008, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, March 3, 2008 until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint George Maronite Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Father Joseph David as Celebrant.
Interment follows in Mount Macrina Cemetery.
Sunday, March 2, 2008 the Parish Rosary Service will be at 3:30 p.m. and Service of Ghinnaz will be held at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
