Joseph W. Kavlick, 66, of Tampa, Fla., passed away, Monday, December 31, 2007, in Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Tampa as a… Joseph W. Kavlick, 66, of Tampa, Fla., passed away, Monday, December 31, 2007, in Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Tampa as a result of a heart attack suffered in his home on December, 27, 2007.
He was born on October 26, 1941, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late Stanley and Marie (Rehanek)Kavlick.
Joe graduated from the former South Union High School Class of 1959 and moved to Ohio upon graduation. He lived in Ohio and Chicago for several years before settling in Tampa in the 1980’s. He was employed with the Wyndam Hotel in Tampa before his retirement.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas and John and nephew, Christopher Kavlick.
Left to forever cherish his memory are his life partner of 30 years, Marvin Shields of Tampa; his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Debra Kavlick of Erie, Pa. and his loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Bill Kaveney of Apex, North Carolina; sisters and brothers-in-law: Anna Marie and Al Wyda of Shillington, Pa. and Mary Carol and Barry Litman of Uniontown, Pa.; and sister-in-law, Peggiann Kavlick of Strongsville, Ohio. He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren: Mitchell, Tyler and McKenzie Kavlick of Erie and Brett and Stephanie Kaveney of Apex, N.C. and nephews, David (Kathy) Kavlick and Jeff (Christine) Kavlick of Ohio and Brad (Sherri) Litman of Jefferson, Pa; nieces: Karen (Greg) Rosenberger of Birdsboro, Pa., Sue (Bob) Shannon of Dowington, Pa., Sharon (Gary) Benz, Melissa (Mark) Radice of Ohio and Amy (George) Solomon of Masontown, Pa.
Joe has always had a devout love of animals and will be deeply missed by his dogs: Daisey, PeeWee, Willie, Beau, Missy, BG and Candie.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Joe will always remember the sincere, honest, and kind manner in which he lived his life. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and will always hold a special place in their hearts.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Joe’s life in a Memorial Mass on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at a time and place to be announced.
