Woman seriously hurt
Nicholle Dawn Breakiron, 19, of Connellsville was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on West Crawford Avenue at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, said state police.
A medical helicopter flew Breakiron to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment, said police. A hospital spokeswoman said Breakiron was in serious condition Saturday afternoon.
A juvenile girl riding in the rear seat of the vehicle was not injured, but Fayette EMS transported her to Highlands Hospital in Connellsville as a precaution, police noted.
Police said the crash occurred when the 1997 Dodge Neon operated by Breakiron crossed over the double, centerline into the eastbound lane and in front of a 2003 Dodge Ram driven by Michael Alan Joseph, 36, of Dunbar.
The vehicles struck, causing multiple airbags to deploy in Breakiron’s vehicle and a single airbag to deploy in Joseph’s vehicle, police said. Neither Joseph nor a juvenile, front-seat passenger in the vehicle were injured in the crash, police said.
Ed Vincent Towing towed both vehicles. Trooper Christopher T. Cole investigated the crash. He was assisted on the scene by members of the Morrell Volunteer Fire Department and Trooper O. Mills, also of the state police in Uniontown.
Police said they will file charges against Breakiron for a traffic violation at the office of Magisterial District Judge Dwight K. Shaner.

Man charged
State police charged Charles Wayne Neighbors, 43, of Dilliner with terroristic threats, harassment and criminal mischief after a Dec. 8 incident at the Brass Rail Bar.
Police said the incident occurred at 3:43 p.m. when Neighbors allegedly threatened to kill Donna N. Wyland, 47, of Fairchance and damaged her vehicle with a full case of beer. Police said the incident occurred while Neighbors and Wyland argued about their failed relationship.
Charges were filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Randy S. Abraham. A warrant was issued for the accused. Anyone with information regarding Neighbors’ whereabouts are asked to call state police in Uniontown at 724-439-7111.

Money reported stolen
Center Independent Fuel, located at 522 Morgantown St., told state police Saturday that an employee could have stolen an undetermined amount of money from the business. Anyone who can assist with the police investigation should call state police in Uniontown. Investigating Trooper is Nicholas Petrosky.
Brownsville
Car wheels stolen
Someone stole the front and rear passenger-side wheels from a 1991 Honda Civic belonging to Shawn Stump, 30, of Brownsville, said state police. The wheels were stolen while the vehicle was parked along Hood Street between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Charges filed
State police filed charges against Bernard Michael Karchnak, 34, of Smock after he allegedly burglarized the office of the JC Diner located at 242 Coolspring-Jumonville Road and stole a black and silver HP laptop computer valued at $1,700.
Police said Karchnak was captured committing the crime on surveillance video. The theft occurred around 2:30 a.m. Nov. 30, police noted. Charges were filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge Wendy D. Dennis.
Police will continue to investigate.
Smithfield
Checks stolen
State police said two checks funded through the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program were stolen from Felicia Dawn Bissett, 23, of Smithfield. The checks were taken from 39 Lewis Lane sometime Dec. 25, according to police.

Vinyl siding damaged
State police said someone damaged the vinyl siding on a garage at 351 First St. in Adah on Friday. The property, damaged at 4:27 p.m., belongs to Todd Tamanend Clark, 55. Police said total estimated damage is $50. Anyone with information is asked to call state police in Uniontown.

Makeup stolen
State police said a 14-year-old girl will be cited for retail theft after she allegedly stole numerous makeup items from the Wal-Mart in Connellsville on Friday.

No injuries reported
No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11:49 a.m. Friday, said state police.
Police said a 1997 Ford Escort driven by Bruce Leapline, 32, of Connellsville and a 2003 Ford Escort driven by James Tony, 21, of Dunbar struck on Pechin Road.
Tony was turning into his driveway when the crash occurred, said police.
Police said both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The crash caused disabling damage to Leapline’s vehicle and minor damage to the rear of Tony’s vehicle, added police.

Vehicle crashes
State police said Sherry D. Showalter, 47, of Addison lost control of a 2006 Ford F-150 on the Yough Bridge while traveling west on Route 40 toward Uniontown at 6:45 a.m. Dec. 27.
Police said as Showalter lost control of her vehicle on the slippery roadway when she began to cross the bridge, impacting the cement wall on both sides of the bridge before coming to a stop blocking both lanes of travel.
Police said Showalter was not injured in the crash and was wearing a seatbelt when it occurred. Police charged Showalter with failure to drive her vehicle at a safe speed. The crash caused disabling damage to her vehicle, police added.
Markleysburg and Addison fire departments and Marclay EMS assisted police on the scene.

Man cited
State police cited Brian Clair Waterhouse, 43, of Uniontown for public drunkenness after he allegedly arrived at Fayette Resources Inc. under the influence of alcohol.
Waterhouse allegedly arrived at the Laurel Street location around 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Mailbox damaged
Someone damaged the mailbox of Ellery Arbogast of Uniontown sometime between 2 p.m. Dec. 28 and 3 a.m. Dec. 29, said state police. The mailbox was located along Morgantown Road, police said.

Harassment continues
State police said someone continues to send harassing letters and packages to GNH Trucking along National Pike in Farmington. Police said on Aug. 10, someone sent a package containing what appeared to be feces. Police said the investigation continues.

Hit-and-run reported
A 2005 Chevrolet Malibu was struck by another vehicle while it was legally parked along Garfield Street sometime between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Friday. No one was injured in the incident, said police. The vehicle sustained light damage, police said.

Trash scattered
Dana Baker of Linton Road told state police someone knocked over her garbage cans at the end of her driveway, scattering trash onto the roadway at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday.

Credit cards stolen
State police said someone stole credit cards belonging to Lori Jansante, 45, of Bentleyville and made approximately $800 in unauthorized charges on Wednesday.

Man arrested
State police arrested a 34-year-old Jacobs Creek man for harassment after a minor altercation at his residence. Police said Laura Sciullo, 24, of Uniontown and Elizabeth Richter, 49, of Dawson were victims of the 12:10 p.m. Dec. 25 incident.
