Altar boy Bryce Williams looks on as the Rev. Vitaly Dunkin conducts an Orthodox Christmas service at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in New Salem on Monday. The church carries on a tradition of nearly a century in keeping with the Julian calendar to observe the Nativity of Jesus (Christmas). Following the service, parishioners sang traditional Russian Christmas carols during a coffee hour in the church hall.
