Elizabeth (Kirk) “Libby” Fox, 82, of Hopwood, Pa., died Monday, January 7, at home.
She was born November 24, 1925,… Elizabeth (Kirk) “Libby” Fox, 82, of Hopwood, Pa., died Monday, January 7, at home.
She was born November 24, 1925, the daughter of the late William Kirk and Mary Irene Irwin Kirk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William Kirk, Jr. and Robert Kirk and her sister, Margaret K. Johnson.
“Libby” graduated from Penns Grove Regional High School, New Jersey, with the class of 1943, and from Douglas College, New Brunswick, N.J., with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology.
She worked as a social worker for Children and Youth Services.
Libby was a member of the Uniontown Country Club Bowling League and Bridge Club, a member and past-president of the Green Gardeners and Uniontown Hospital Auxiliary and a past Uniontown Hospital board member. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, beach vacations with her family and traveling.
Libby is survived by her husband of 63 years, James I. Fox, Sr. of Hopwood; her children: James I. Fox, Jr. and his wife, Donna, David K. Fox and his wife, Sherrie and Susan E. Fox all of Uniontown, and three grandchildren: Ira Fox, Heather Fox Katzenberger and her husband, Craig and Meghan Fox.
Arrangements are entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, January 9, 2008. Visitation will continue on Thursday, January 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. in TRINITY UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, followed by a celebration of her life at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael I. Orstead officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
