Harry W. Walters, 95, of Washington, Pa., died Monday, January 7, 2008, in the Washington Hospital.

He was born November 18, 1912, in Luzerne Township, Fayette County, Pa., a son of Joseph and Lucy Clark Walters.
Mr. Walters retired from the Chartiers Mine. He and his wife owned Harry’s Amoco at the corners of LaBelle, Maxell and Rush Run Roads.
He was a member of Local 6330 in District No. 4.
Mr. Walters was a life long member of West Bend United Methodist Church, Fayette County.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army from December 23, 1942, to September 27, 1945.
On June 4, 1947, in Oakland, Maryland, he married Ruth Evelyn Waters who survives.
Also surviving are two sons: Donald Keith (Robbin) Walters of East Millsboro, and Kevin Lee (Darlene) Walters of California; two daughters: Eileen (Joseph) Dochinez of California, and Carol (Joseph) DiTullio of Washington; six grandchildren: Jacque Mari Dwyer, James (Carol) Conner, Corey Conner, Keith Walters, Season Marie and Trisha Lynn Walters; three great-grandchildren: Tanner Matthew Walters, Brody Rian Conner and Gia Rain Conner; one sister, Leatha “Dot” Waters; and one brother-in-law, Russell (Donna) Waters.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Lynn Walters, a grandson, Ryan Robert, two sisters, Bertha and Helen and a brother Jake.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday in the HUMMELL AND BARNHILL FUNERAL HOME, INC., Thomas W. Hummell, Supervisor and Douglas M. Jones, Director, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Pa.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2008, in the West Bend United Methodist Church, Fayette County, with the Rev. Janice McClay officiating.
Interment will follow in West Bend United Methodist Church Cemetery.
