John Michael Billetz, 52, of Greensboro, Pa., died unexpectedly at 6:23 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Uniontown… John Michael Billetz, 52, of Greensboro, Pa., died unexpectedly at 6:23 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born March 9, 1955 in Morgantown, W. Va., a son of the late John Henry and Helen (Juristy) Billetz.
Mr. Billetz was a 1973 graduate of Mapletown High School and resided in Monongahela Township all of his life. He was a member of the St. Ignatius (Holy Family) Parish in Greensboro and the United Mine Workers of America.
Mr. Billetz worked at Dunkard Mining Company for about 17 years before working in mine construction for about five years. He enjoyed hunting and automotive mechanics and particularly liked to fish.
Surviving are a son, John Billetz of Greensboro; two brothers, Gary Billetz and Michael Billetz, both of Greensboro; a sister, Debra A. Conway and her husband, David of Middletown, Md. and three nephews, David Conway, Matthew Conway and Richard Conway, all of Maryland.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2008.
A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Worship Site of the St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, Greensboro with the Rev. Lawrence V. Holpp as celebrant.
Interment will take place at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa.
A parish vigil will be held at 7:45 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.
