Weapon threats alleged
A Uniontown man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly threatened two people in Brownsville with a handgun early Monday. State police said Mark Anthony McCoy, 23, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Wendy D. Dennis with two counts each of terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct and single counts of carrying a firearm without a license, criminal trespass and public drunkenness.
According to Trooper James A. Aughinbaugh, the incident occurred just after 1 a.m. when McCoy threatened Tyesha and Tennile Biddings, both of Brownsville, at a residence on Clover Street in Snowden Terrace.
Aughinbaugh said McCoy threw the handgun into a grassy area when police arrived.
The handgun McCoy used in the incident was reported stolen by a Marianna man last year, Aughinbaugh said.
Following his arraignment Monday, McCoy was placed in the Fayette County Prison on $25,000 straight cash bond.
A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Michael Defino Jr.
