Pauline J. Skala, 73 of Uniontown, Pa., formerly of High House, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2008, in the… Pauline J. Skala, 73 of Uniontown, Pa., formerly of High House, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born February 5, 1934, in German Township, Pa.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mary K. Checkel Skala and Floyd E. Skala, brother, Floyd P. Skala and sister, Dorothy Martoncik.
Pauline attended German Township High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1952.
She was employed with One Hour Martinizing on Morgantown Street in Uniontown for 30 years plus and retired at the age of 70.
She attended Ss. Cyril and Methodius R.C. Church in Fairchance and formerly attended Saint Helen R.C. Church in Shoaf.
Pauline is survived by brothers: Joseph T. Skala and wife, Mary Ann of Hubbard, Ohio and Andrew Skala of Uniontown, Pa. and sisters: Josie T. McCollum and husband, Paul of Youngstown, Ohio and Susan M. Ozanich and husband, Eugene of Uniontown, Pa. Also survived by nieces: Maria C. Frick and fiancé, Vincent Stamates, Bernadette A. Germock and husband, Mark and their son, Dalton, Stacey McCollum, Belinda Joyce and husband, Darin and their son, Joseph, Veronica McLaughlin and her sons, Ron and Steven and her daughters, Gina and Amanda; nephews: Brian McCollum and wife, Nina, Jeffrey McCollum and sons, Timothy and Jacob and Gregory Skala and wife, Kimberly and her Beagle friend, Sammie.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, January 18, 2008 until 10:30 a.m. when a Prayer service will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in the Ss. Cyril and Methodius R.C. Church, 50 North Morgantown Street, Fairchance, Pa. with Rev. Father Andrew M. Kawecki as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
Parish Wake service Thursday evening at 8:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
