Frazier board member in trouble with law

By Rebekah Sungala 2 min read

A Frazier School Board member is in trouble with the law following two separate incidents last year. Court records indicate John Henry Lowery III, 37, of Fayette City was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness following an incident in Allegheny County in November. Pittsburgh police filed the charges in that case.

In a separate incident that occurred in July in Fallowfield Township, Washington County, state police charged Lowery with driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving, driving an unregistered vehicle and operating a vehicle without a valid inspection.

Court records indicate that Lowery was arrested following the incident in Allegheny County and released after posting 10 percent of a $2,000 bond.

Charges against Lowery regarding the alleged DUI incident in Fallowfield Township in July were not officially filed until November.

Court records indicate Lowery waived his right to a preliminary hearing in that case and is scheduled to appear in Washington County Court on Feb. 25.

Both cases remain open, according to court records.

Lowery, a local attorney, formerly served as president of the school board.

In 2006, Lowery ran for office in an attempt to become the state representative for the 52nd District, a post previously held by former state Rep. James Shaner.

Lowery lost the election to current Rep. Deberah Kula, D-North Union Township.

Court records indicate attorney Nicholas E. Timperio of Uniontown is representing Lowery.

Frazier School Board will meet at 7 p.m. today at the high school.
