Bowlby Public Library announces January events
The Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg has announced its upcoming events and activities for the month of January 2008. The Bowlby Public Library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The library board of trustees will meet at the library on Monday, Jan. 28, at 6:30 p.m.
Library issues will be discussed, and the public is encouraged to attend the meetings.
TOPS (“Take Off Pounds Sensibly”) is an international, non-profit weight loss support group that meets at the library each Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
New members are invited to join and should contact the library for more information.
Free remedial tutoring for children and youths is available at the library.
Focus on difficult subjects (reading, writing and math) in a relaxed atmosphere with one-on-one tutors.
Register by calling the family literacy coordinator at the library.
The literacy programs, materials and supplies are funded by the Comcast Foundation.
The Friends of the Bowlby Public Library is accepting new members.
Joining the organization is easy, and tax deductible donations will benefit the library.
The group consists of people who care about libraries and who are interested in promoting the welfare and growth of the library.
Membership is open for supporting and active members.

The library welcomes donations of money given as a memorial or honorarium.
Acknowledgements will be made to the donor and the family honored.
Gift plates will be placed in the books with names inscribed. Contact Kevin at the library for more information.
The library is looking for local artists to display their artwork. Collectors may also display collections in the display case. For more information, contact Diana B. at the library.
The library will follow the Central Greene School District in snow closings. Residents should listen to WANB Radio for information regarding school closings.
