Medican center to present program
The Wellness Center at Southwest Regional Medical Center has announced its second annual “Choose to Lose” program.
The program is designed to help those wishing to improve their health, get in shape and shed unwanted pounds. Participants must be members of the Wellness Center and complete a confidential body composition analysis between the dates of Feb. 1-15.
In order to remain eligible for the contest, each participant must check in weekly with the Wellness Center staff.
The program will last for 12 weeks. Last year, over 30 individuals successfully completed the program losing a combined total of 683 pounds.
“The Wellness Center is fully staffed to help members learn how to use the equipment and get the most out of their exercise,” said Ryan King, general manager of the Wellness Center. “We even offer one free session with one of our personal trainers.”
The Wellness Center offers cardiovascular and weight lifting equipment in addition to a therapy pool. The hours of operation have recently expanded to:
n Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
n Monday – Thursday: 5:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
n Friday: 5:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
n Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The winner of the contest will receive a free six-month membership to the Wellness Center.
