He was born November… Clyde Garrett McMurray, 90, of Uniontown, Pa., died Thursday, January 17, in Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown. He was born November 7, 1917, in Oakdale, Pa., the son of the late Clyde G. McMurray and Alice K. Garrett McMurray.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Beatty McMurray in 2004, and a stepson, Clarence Beatty.
Clyde graduated from Oakdale High School with the class of 1935. He retired in 1977, from the Isabella Mine where he worked as a chief clerk. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Uniontown.
Clyde is survived by three stepsons: Russell Beatty of Smock, Charles W. Beatty of Brownsville, and Ronald Beatty of Uniontown; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth M. Elentri of Uniontown; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack D. McMurray of Bridgeville, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Juanita L. Hormel of Oakdale, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2008. Visitation will continue on Monday, January 21, from 10 until 11 a.m. followed by a celebration of Clyde’s life with the Rev. Ron Hudson officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
