Paul J. Bitner, 80, of Mammoth, Pa., died Thursday, January 17, 2008, in Excela Health, Latrobe Hospital with his loving… Paul J. Bitner, 80, of Mammoth, Pa., died Thursday, January 17, 2008, in Excela Health, Latrobe Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born January 26, 1927, he was a son of the late A. Clyde and Mabel Frances (Sweeney) Bitner.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Coast Guard aboard the USS Callaway.

Paul was a parishioner of St. Florian Catholic Church, United.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Patricia Malia Bitner; three sons: Paul R. (Mary), John W. (Sherry Spatora) and Thomas P.; a daughter, Ann (Robert) Myers; brothers: Clyde J. (Lois); his twin and best friend, Robert L.; sisters: Geraldine (Jack) Wright and Lorraine Kemp; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, Pa. A Blessing Service will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, in the Funeral Home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. in St. Florian Catholic Church, con-Celebrated by the Reverend William C. McGuirk and Monsignor Thomas Holoman.

Interment to follow in St. Florian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Organ Fund at St. Florian Church, P.O. Box 187, United, Pa. 15689.
