“Hero”
Abbie Faye Brown
Uniontown
Just recently my dad saved two people and a dog from a fire down in Republic. He was driving home from work when he saw an apartment on fire with no firetrucks around it. He jumped out of his car and yelled to the woman across the street to get the police and the fire department here. My dad ran inside and was yelling “fire.” The man reached out to my dad and grabbed his hand my dad led the man, his son and the dog down the steps. By the time they got outside the fire department was arriving. I guess I can say my dad is an actual hero.
Snowmen
Valerie R. Mikesic
Smithfield
Snowmen are wonderful for many reasons. You can play with them. You can see how well you are at your work, and you can see how wonderful it is to have snow. Snowmen help us have fun in many different ways that can make us feel young again while playing with your little one or just looking outside to see you precious white sculpture that you have made. Take a picture to have memories of that day when you made a snowman. It just might make you feel good.
Five stars
Sara Lesher
A.G. North
Our school AG North had the band (AG North) play. We also had the chorus sing too. I would give the band five stars. The chorus earns five stars too. The band played amazingly. The chorus sang greatly.
My cat
Kelsey Habrat
Fairchance
About three months ago I took my cat Chrissy outside. We opened the door and she ran up the tree. We baited the bottom, she still did not come down. So I called the fire department. They got her down quickly. I’m writing this because I forgot to do it. I thank the Fairchance Fire Department. Without them I would be without a white little furry friend today.
New Year’s Eve
Rachel Nixon
Vanderbilt
On New Year’s Eve, my best friend Brittany slept over. To get ready for 2008, we blew up balloons. My grandma ripped squares out of paper. She poured pop in four shotglasse. Then, at exactly midnight, we threw confetti and drank pop. After we messed around and put confetti in each other’s pants, we ate kielbasa and sauerkraut. Well, I hope you had a great 2007, just like me.
My orange kitten
Cole Kendell
Uniontown
I woke up Christmas morning and heard a loud meowing coming from under the tree. I ran to the living room to find out what it was. I looked under the tree and found a furry orange kitten. I named him Scooby. I got lots of presents, but that was my favorite.
