Marie A. (Mlinarcik) Guappone, 78, of McClellandtown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2008.

She was born on… Marie A. (Mlinarcik) Guappone, 78, of McClellandtown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2008.

She was born on May 27, 1929, in Masontown, Pa., the daughter of John Mlinarcik and Anna (Yablonosky) Mlinarcik.

Marie was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Saint Mary, Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, Pa., and Saint Mary’s Rosary Society.

She graduated from the now former All Saints High School in Masontown, Pa., earned a Bachelors Degree in Education at Carlow College in Pittsburgh, Pa., and a Masters Degree in Education at West Virginia University.

She was an educator at West End Elementary School in Masontown for 15 years.

Marie enjoyed art and crossword puzzles and, above all else, spending time with her precious grandchildren.

Her parents, her husband, Carmen A. Guappone, two brothers, John Mlinarcik and Joseph Mlinarcik, and sister, Helen Mlinarcik, preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: daughters, Susan C. Catanzarite and her husband, Marcus, of McClellandtown, Pa., and Anne C. Clump and her husband, Andy, of Morgantown, West Virginia; four grandchildren: Katie Marie Catanzarite, Ava Clump, Lilly Clump and Nicholas Clump; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday morning, January 22, 2008, until 11:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 Noon in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Saint Mary, Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, with the Rev. Father Donald P. Trexler as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Saint Mary, Cemetery, Leckrone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Saints School, 101 South Washington Street, Masontown, PA 15461.

Saint Mary’s Rosary Society will recite the Rosary in the Funeral Home today at 3 p.m.
