Albert W. Yozie, 82, of Rowes Run, Pa., died Monday, January 21, 2008, in his home.
He was born on… Albert W. Yozie, 82, of Rowes Run, Pa., died Monday, January 21, 2008, in his home.
He was born on February 2, 1926, in Maxwell, Pa., he was a retired coal miner who worked at Maple Creek Mine, an active member of the Republic Lion’s Club and also a Smock Gun Club member for many years and a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy.
Al loved gardening and wine making and was very active in his church.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Mondrella Yozie; two sons: Mark Yozie of Bruceton Mills, W.Va. and David and wife, Kathleen Clarke Yozie of Mill Valley, Calif; two loving grandchildren: Elek and Alina Yozie and a brother, Michael Yozie of Dunbar, Pa.
Predeceased by brother, John Yozie and a sister, Margaret Yozie.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Where a prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, Grindstone, Pa., with the Rev. Father John Sedlak as Celebrant.
Interment will be held in LaFayette Memorial Park with full military rites accorded by American Legion Post 295, 940 and 838.
Vigil service will be held on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
Parish rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
