He is survived by his wife, Joanne Stone Hirak; his son, Matthew Basinger; stepson, Jon Basinger; step-daughter, Brenda Dearl Hillegas; nine grandchildren; brothers: Andrew, James, and Richard Hirak; and sisters: Julie Gonofsky, Ruth Shuga and Rose Troutman.

Arrangements were under the direction of JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, Pa.
