Alfred J. “Joe” Wright, 71, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Eglin AFB, Fort Walton Beach Fla., died January 18, 2008.

… Alfred J. “Joe” Wright, 71, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Eglin AFB, Fort Walton Beach Fla., died January 18, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Norma J. Wright; a daughter, Dawn Gentry and a son, James J. Wright; a brother, Richard Wright; a sister, Sandra Kite; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Dunkard Township, Pa. Alfred was a graduate of Point Marion High School, class of 1954. He retired from the United States Air Force after 28 years and the Sarasota Country Sheriff’s Department, as a desk officer, after 16½years. He lived in Venice for over 26 years.
