Frances C. Swartz, 89, of East Millsboro, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008, in Rest Haven Personal Care Home in… Frances C. Swartz, 89, of East Millsboro, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008, in Rest Haven Personal Care Home in Uniontown.
She was born February 12, 1918, in Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, daughter of the late John Ogrodny and Antoinette Lowisz Ogrodny.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Swartz Sr.; two sons, Charles Swartz Jr. and Robert Swartz; one daughter, Mary Jane Swartz; one sister, Helen McClosky; and four brothers, Pete, Joseph, Alexander and Frank Ogrodny.
Frances attended The Church of the Madonna where she had been a Christian Mother. She was a cook for Brownsville Area School District in the Redstone Middle School retiring in 1981, and an employee of the former Republic Dairy Queen.
She is survived by her children, Eugene Swartz and wife, Judith of Summerduck, Virginia, Larry Swartz of Wichita, Kansas, Charlotte Macias and husband, Gilbert, of New Bern, North Carolina, Joyce Lane of Seven Springs, North Carolina, Sharon Porter and husband, Edward, of East Millsboro, and Carl Swartz and Barbara of Grindstone; thirty-three grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Violet Tiberi of Uniontown, Rose Soblotney and husband, Harry of Uniontown, Elizabeth Wellington of New Salem, Emily Olesh of Leicester, North Carolina, Ann Grant of Uniontown and Annette Davis of Palmer.
Friends will be received in DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, today, January 25, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, January 26, 2008, until 11 a.m. when a Blessing Service and Parish Wake Service will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Father James W. Clark officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Uniontown.
