James Dale Huggins, 81, of Lordstown, Ohio, died at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2008, at the St. Joseph… James Dale Huggins, 81, of Lordstown, Ohio, died at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2008, at the St. Joseph Health Center following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Uniontown, Pa., on April 3, 1926, to Russell Ray and Ada (Blanche) Huggins.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he retired in 1987 after working 31 years as a machine assembler at United Engineering in Youngstown. He also worked for several years in the parks department at the Village of Lordstown. He worked hard his entire life and believed in taking care of his family.

James is survived by his wife Pauline P. (Erminio) Huggins whom he married on May 21, 1949; two daughters, Linda K. (George S.) Gustovich of Niles, Cynthia M. (Paul J.) Fihn of Leavittsburg; two granddaughters, Tracy B. Anthony of Jamestown, Pa., Lisa (Doug) Halliday of Warren; four great grandchildren, Pamela, Bonnie, Ryan, and Jake.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Huggins, Russell Huggins and a sister, Olive Mae Rockwell.

Calling hours will be Sunday, January 27, 2008 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the HOLETON-YUHASZ FUNERAL HOME, Niles. The Funeral will be Monday, January 28, 2008, at noon at the Funeral Home with the Rev. David McDonald officiating.

Burial will be at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
