John L. “Big John” Zupich, age 81, of Brownsville, Pa., died Saturday, January 26, 2008, at his home surrounded by… John L. “Big John” Zupich, age 81, of Brownsville, Pa., died Saturday, January 26, 2008, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 25, 1926, in Messmore, Fayette County, Pa., the Son of Steven and Mary Zupich.
He was retired from the River Division of J & L Steel Corporation, was a Veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 295.
He was predeceased by his Parents, his Wife, Genevieve Zupich, Brother, Steve, and Sister, Catherine.
He is survived by three Children: Mary Clark and husband Bill, Brownsville, Pa., John E. “Butch” Zupic and wife Karen, Ohio, and Gary “Sam” Zupich and wife Susan, Hiller, Pa.; five Grandsons; five Great-Grand-children; Sister, Mildred Hood, Ohio; Loving Companion, Wanda Henry and her family: Gary and Denise Henry, Sharon Givens and family, Cindy and Ron Sabo and family; a very Special Friend, Missy Tunney; numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Stephen Bugay officiating.
Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa., where Full Military Rites and Honors will be accorded by American Legion posts 295, 838 and 940.
A Vigil Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
