Local bands plays a rockin show
On Jan. 26, I had the pleasure of witnessing rock n’ roll at its finest. Maubus headlined a double billed show with All In Uniform at the Eagle’s Nest. Maubus brought it, anyone that’s seen them before knows what that means. The music explains it all, and if you haven’t seen Maubus live yet I implore you to do so soon. Why not Feb. 2 at Mahoney’s where they’re billed with All In Uniform again and Burning Earth. Then on Feb. 3 you will know what I’m talking about. They are full to the brim with hard rock talent, one song will teach you that. I had the pleasure of a ‘front-row’ seat last night at Eagle’s Nest and with just a standing room only area between me and the band, I needed little help getting into it. I’m not a ‘jump-arounder’ but song after song wanted to propel me into that little area in front of me. Phenominal sounds come from every speaker and amplifier. Ed’s bass guitar holds the low end in place, the drums are being beat like they owe Dylan money , Mike’s lead guitar work blends the melody’s in and reminds us that the guitar solo is not extinct, and Jeff P.’s pipes, energy and mic control do the frontman job exceptionally well. In conclusion if you haven’t had the opportunity to see Maubus live, get your ass to Mahoney’s on Feb. 2! Then you can post the show review on Feb. 3rd, if you think you can beat me to it.
I know it’s only rock n’ roll, but I like it,
