Anne Paroda, age 89, of 17 Redbud Drive, Clarksburg, W.Va., passed away at 11:33 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2008, in… Anne Paroda, age 89, of 17 Redbud Drive, Clarksburg, W.Va., passed away at 11:33 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2008, in the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg following a brief illness.
She was born in Brownsville, Pa., April 16, 1918, a daughter of the late John Kish & Anna Timofy Kish.
Her husband, Mike Paroda, preceded her in death on June 19, 1981.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Dr. Charles “Mick” Paroda and wife, Sharren, of Clarksburg, W.Va., and James F. and Debra Paroda, New Bloomfield, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa M. and Barry Kurth, Monongahela, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Teresa Porfido, New Port Richey, Fla.; four grandchildren: Jamie, Krisi and Matthew Paroda and Jordan Kurth; three great-grandchildren: Ava Lola, Julia and Nicholas Paroda; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Paroda was also preceded in death by six brothers, Frank, John, Mike, Charles, Steve and Pete Kish and a sister, Mary Castronova.
Mrs. Paroda was a member of the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Mission in Fairmont, W.Va. She was also a member of the Harrison County Senior Citizens Center and was a homemaker.
Friends may call at the DAVIS-WEAVER FUNERAL HOME, 329 East Main Street, Clarksburg, W.Va., from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mrs. Paroda will then be transferred to the FRANK BURKUS FUNERAL HOME in Millsboro, Pa., where friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday. A POMEN (memorial) Service will be held at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2008, in the Holy Resurrection Church in West Brownsville, Pa., with the Very Rev. Dr. Rodney Torbic presiding.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Route 40, Brier Hill, Pa.
