Jo Ellen “Josie” Tajc, 63, of West Leisenring, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at the Uniontown Hospital.
… Jo Ellen “Josie” Tajc, 63, of West Leisenring, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at the Uniontown Hospital.
She was born on June 13, 1944, in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of Emerson and Margaret (Smitley) Freed, who preceded her in death.
Josie was a graduate of North Union High School, a member of Saint John Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville and for many years a member and Past Treasurer of Saint Polycarp’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and proud grandmother. She was a great cook, and enjoyed knitting. Above all else she found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 44 years, Thomas Tajc; their daughters: Yvonne Flaker and husband, Rob of Sanford, N.C. and Renee Thomas and husband, Butch of Londonderry, N.H.; grandchildren: Jessica Thomas, Chris Flaker, Ashley Thomas and Kaleigh Flaker; sisters: Barbara Moore and husband, Harry “Skip” of Lemont Furnace, Pa. and Judy Nicholson and husband, Kenny of Uniontown, Pa. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, February 2, 2008 until 9:15 a.m. when prayers will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. John Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, Pa., with Rev. Father Ron Cyktor, Jr. as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
