Born July 30, 1910, in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, he was the Son of Henry Poiser and Jennie Gaus Poiser.
Henry graduated from Connellsville High School, Class of 1928.
He was a retired Pennsylvania State Policeman having retired in 1970 from the Uniontown Barracks. At the time of his death, Henry was the oldest living retired State Policeman in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
For nine years Henry served as a Court Crier for the Fayette County Courts.
He was a member of King Solomon’s Lodge No. 346 F. & A. M., Royal Arch Chapter, St. Omer’s Commandry No. 7, Uniontown, and a former member of the Syria Shrine.
He was also a member of the Comas Club, the Retired State Policemen of Pennsylvania, PARSE, B. P. O. Elks No. 503 in Connellsville, AARP, and Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) National Lodge and a former member of Pleasant Valley Country Club.
Henry was a member of the Presbyterian Church USA of Connellsville where he was a former Church Trustee and a member of The Board of Sessions.
He was predeceased by his Parents, by his first Wife, Ivadene F. Fisher Poiser, his second Wife, Virginia Scott Luckey Poiser, two Brothers, Kenneth Poiser and Wilbert Poiser, and by three Sisters, Elizabeth Murray, Myrtle Dowling and Edna Witt.
He is survived by several Nieces and Nephews and their Families.
There will be no public viewing or visitation.
Private inurnment will take place in the Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pennsylvania.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date and will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Presbyterian Church USA of Connellsville, 711 South Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA 15425 in memory of Henry E. Poiser.
