Storm causes damage in Greene County
A quick-moving storm moved through the area Tuesday night, resulting in damage throughout parts of Greene and Washington counties. Brad Rehak, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, said numerous reports of uprooted trees were received from the northeastern part of Greene County.
Nickel-sized hail was also reported in Washington County, Rehak said, noting that the hail mainly targeted the Marianna area.
Rehak said the rogue storm was moving ahead of a storm system yielding heavy rain and gusty wind scheduled to hit southwestern Pennsylvania late Tuesday night.
The National Weather Service did not receive any reports of storm damage from Fayette County as of Tuesday evening, according to Rehak.
