Connellsville Soap Box Derby an ‘anything goes’ race on July 26
The Connellsville Soap Box Derby will be held Saturday, July 26, on Newmeyer Avenue hill. The staffing and registration will be on Buckeye Street. Drivers and a parent/guardian must check-in from 8 to 8:45 a.m. and must be present for a driver’s meeting at 8:45 in the staging area.
The race will be a traditional “anything goes” race in which drivers age 7 to adult will compete in elimination-style races. Youth races will consist of racers who are 7 to 16-years-old, and the adult races will consist of those who are 17 or older.
Cars can be made of any material, but must meet specifications listed in the rules. There is a $15 registration fee, with a T-shirt provided to each racer who registers.
All registration forms and fees must be submitted to Connellsville Soapbox Derby, C/O Jeffrey Peterson, 114 Robbins St., Connellsville, Pa., 15425. Make checks payable to Connellsville Soapbox Derby. The deadline to register is Friday.
