Dorothy Jean Wandell Mitchell, loving wife, mother and sister, age 87 of Wears Valley, Tenn. and formerly of Uniontown and… Dorothy Jean Wandell Mitchell, loving wife, mother and sister, age 87 of Wears Valley, Tenn. and formerly of Uniontown and Farmington, Pa. passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2008.
She was born on December 24, 1920 in Uniontown, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Evan Dean Wandel.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Louis P. Mitchell, sisters, Ruth Wandel, Betty MacNeill, Edith Lake, Maryolive Hill and sister-in-law, Elaine Wandel.
She is survived by her children: Eileen Chisnell and husband Jack of Wears Valley, Tenn., George Mitchell of Plainfield, N.J., Carolyn Mitchell of Bedminister, N.J.; brothers and sisters: Charles Wandel of Medina, Ohio, Doris Fouch of Uniontown, Pa., Bob and Audrey Wandel of Uniontown, Pa., David and Ellie Wandel of Brockport, N.Y. and Marilyn Wandel of Uniontown, Pa.; special Aunt and Uncle, James and Virginia Sesler of Uniontown, Pa., brothers-in-law: Campbell MacNeill, George Hill and Richard Lake; numerous nieces and nephews; special family friend, Brian Friedman of Basking Ridge, N.J.
Friends will be received in the BARNETT-SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME 680 Cherry Tree Lane, Uniontown, Pa. on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Robert Ellenberger officiating.
Interment at Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
