Arthur Louis Rose
Arthur L. Rose was born on August 28, 1936 in Edenborn, Pennsylvania to the late James Rose and Barbara Rose… Arthur L. Rose was born on August 28, 1936 in Edenborn, Pennsylvania to the late James Rose and Barbara Rose Wynn.
Arthur came to know the Lord at an early age and followed Him into baptism at the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church of Cardale, Pa.
He received his early education in the public school system of German Township where he resided until he joined and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged.
Arthur spent over 40 years as an active member of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge – State of New York, where he was elevated to the 33rd and last degree of Masonry. He served as Grand Marshall of the State of New York for 22 years.
Arthur leaves a devoted wife, Minister Roslyn Rose; and five children: Tonya Rose of Wilkinsburg, Jacquelyn Gunnell of Monessen, Mildred Gilliam-Bailey of Tower Hill No. 1, Margery Shoulders of Brooklyn, N.Y., Pamela and her husband Tyrone Zimmerman of Fresh Meadows, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Johnson and her husband Robert of California, Pa.; two brothers: James Wynn and his wife Loretta of Springfield, Mass. and Ronnie Wynn and his wife Donna of Tower Hill No. 1; a special brother-in-law Edward Frederick of Bronx, N.Y.; many aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.
Arrangements, have been entrusted to the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 23 at the MT. ARARAT BAPTIST CHURCH in Cardale, Pa. from 4 to 7 p.m., the Hour of Service.
Services will be continued at the ANDRE BAKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 19 Yosemite Ave., White Plains, N.Y. 10607.
Entombment will be held at Rose Hills Cemetery in Putnam Valley, N.Y.
