July 24, 2008 Masontown Borough Council accepted the resignation of borough police Chief Rich Barron at Tuesday’s council meeting. Barron did not resign to take a job with Laurel Highlands School District but accepted the job after retiring from the borough police department with 301/2 years of service, clarifying a story published Wednesday.
