Roy E. Durst, 80, of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in his home.
He was born June… Roy E. Durst, 80, of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in his home.
He was born June 14, 1928, in Hopwood, son of the late Dewey and Anna Chaney Durst. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Darrel and James Durst.
He is survived by his loving wife, friend and care giver of 58 years, Bertha M. Jeffries Durst; three sisters: Veda Edwards of Rising Sun, Md., Norma Jean Balas and husband, Robert of Burton, Ohio, and June Ann Durst of Uniontown; and a very special friend, Judy Snyder of Uniontown.
Roy was a retired employee of South Union Township, and he was a veteran of the Korean War, where he received several medals and honors.
He was a member of the Harley Davidson Owners Group and the Fayette County A.B.A.T.E. and loved to ride his Harley with his friends.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the hour of service with the Rev. Roland O’Brian officiating.
Interment will follow in Sandy Hill Cemetery, New Salem Road.
