The State Police Troop B, which includes Fayette, Washington, Westmoreland, Greene and Allegheny counties, held their annual Camp Cadet July 13 through 19. The camp, held at Raccoon State Park in Beaver County, is designed to bring a better understanding of law enforcement to the area’s youth and emphasize personal development skills like self-discipline and working as a team.

Included in this year’s camp were presentations by the state police Motorcycle Unit, the state police Special Emergency Response Team, the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service, the state Game Commission and the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.

Fifty children attended the camp, with 19 participants from Fayette County, 13 from Washington County, nine from Allegheny County, seven from Westmoreland County and two from Greene County.
