Goose report
Mother and Father Goose are proud this week; baby goose discovered water. High time, he (or she) will be a month old on Monday. To keep the little yellow critter safe from hawks and turtles, Barb and Ruthie penned up Mother and child in a dog kennel when he was only a day old and he had no chance to play in the creek like a goose should. Over the weekend, Barb and Ruthie put a small round cake pan full of water into the kennel and Baby Goose went wild. A little hesitant at first, Baby goose finally hopped into the pan and refused to get out. He even fell asleep in the water pan and Mom goose had to nudge him to get out and sleep under her wing instead.Ruthie will be unavoidably occupied next week. Send in news as early as possible. News e-mailed after Tuesday evening will not make it into the column next week. News left in the mailbox at 352 Circle Street after Tuesday at 5 p.m. will not make it into the June 8 news. Please plan ahead.
