Heart Walk leader announced for ’08
The American Heart Association, Fayette County division, has announced that Denice Robinson, financial consultant at BPU Investment Management Inc., will chair the 2008 Start! Heart Walk. “I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with our community leaders here in Fayette County on such a worthwhile effort,” Robinson said. “As chair of the 2008 Start! Heart Walk, I also look forward to helping raise awareness and funds while helping to motivate thousands of people in Fayette County to join together and walk for better heart health.”
Robinson will host a CEO breakfast Thursday at The State Theatre Center for the Arts.

xecutives will share a heart healthy breakfast and learn about the benefits of creating a culture of physical activity and health in the workplace and find out how companies and organizations can get involved in the Start! Heart Walk.
Each year 1.2 million Americans suffer a heart attack.
Cardiovascular disease and stroke continue to be the nation’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers, she said.
More physical activity is one of the things that can help improve these statistics. Studies show that for every one hour of regular exercise, individuals can gain two more hours of life, even if they don’t begin until middle age.
The CEO Breakfast is an invitation-only event. The 2008 Fayette County Start! Heart Walk will take place on Oct. 4 at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. Last year’s Start! Heart Walk attracted more than 600 people and raised $113,000 to support public education and medical research in the fight against heart disease and stroke.
