He was born July 13, 1919, in Connellsville, a son of Stephen and Mary Beck Baluch.
Mr. Baluch retired from the Anchor Hocking Cap Plant in 1977 after 37 years of employment. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II.
He was a member and past president of GBBA Local No. 107, an office he held for many years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 301 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 21, both of Connellsville.
He was also a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Connellsville.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Louise Metcalf Baluch, to whom he was married for 67 years on March 28, 2008; one daughter, Donna Jean Varnak of Denver, Colo; one son, Robert Baluch, Jr. and his wife, Jackie of Dunbar; three grandchildren: Bobbie Jean Mulnix, James Baluch and Brian Varnak and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by eight brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter, Laura McCracken.
Friends will be received on Thursday, June 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, June 6, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday when services will be held at 10 a.m., with Reverend Dennis Roser and Reverend Dr. Marvin Watson officiating.
Entombment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Connellsville Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion and the Trotter American Legion Honor Guard.
