Updates on suspects nabbed in drug bust
WAYNESBURG – The Messenger has recently learned of updates regarding a number of suspects who were arrested in March during a major drug bust conducted by the Greene County Drug Task Force. The suspects – most of whom are from Greene County – were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson on numerous drug charges, including the delivery of heroin, marijuana, Vicodin and other controlled substances, after the Task Force presented them with warrants.
Task force agents and confidential informants made numerous undercover drug purchases in and around Greene County during the March 19 investigation, according to Attorney General Tom Corbett, whose office supervises the task force with assistance from the Greene County district attorney’s office.
Agents also used surveillance and traffic stops to identify suspects and seize drugs, Corbett said.
Preliminary hearings have already been held for many of the suspects before Watson. Here are the updates of the following suspects, according to court records:
Charles Bainbridge, 26, of Crucible was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for May but was continued until Aug. 28. He remains free on a $1,000 unsecured bond.
Cheryl Ball, 44, of Carmichaels was arrested and charged with possession of Vicodin, possession with the intent to deliver, delivery and conspiracy. Ball waived all charges to court during her preliminary hearing on May 27. She remains free on a $7,500 unsecured bond.
David Casserly, 21, of Carmichaels was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. Casserly waived all charges to court during his preliminary hearing on May 27. He remains free after posting $500 straight cash bond.
John Hughes Jr., 24, of Point Marion, Fayette County, was charged with possession of heroin, possession with the intent to deliver and delivery. His preliminary hearing has been continued until further notice. He remains free after posting $20,000 straight bond.
Kenneth E. Mansberry Jr., 20, of Carmichaels was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession with the intent to deliver and delivery. His preliminary hearing has been continued until further notice. He remains free after posting $2,500 straight cash bond.
Nicole M. Mcanany, 35, of Washington County was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, delivery, conspiracy and criminal use of a communications facility. Her preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 29 but was continued until further notice. She remains free on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
Timothy Ray Newell, 49, of Waynesburg was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and public drunkenness. Newell waived all charges to court during his preliminary hearing on May 28. His bail was modified on June 3 to a $10,000 unsecured bond.
Glen Arthur Snyder, 44, of Carmichaels was arrested and charged with possession of Vicodin, possession with the intent to deliver, delivery and conspiracy. During his preliminary hearing on May 27, the charge of conspiracy was dismissed and the remaining charges were held for court. He remains free after posting $5,000 straight bond.
Following the March 19 drug bust, the Greene County Drug Task Force issued warrants for Joseph James Dean II, 18, of Carmichaels and Michael Milliken, 27, of Nemacolin.
Dean was arraigned on April 11 on charges of possession of heroin, possession with the intent to deliver and delivery. During his preliminary hearing on May 28, all charges were held for court. He remains in Greene County Prison after failing to post $10,000 straight bail.
Milliken was arraigned on April 18 on charges of possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to deliver and delivery. He waived the charges to court shortly after his arraignment. He remains in Greene County Prison after failing to post $20,000 straight bail.
The Greene County Drug Task Force is comprised of members of the Cumberland Township Police Department, Carmichaels Borough Police Department, Waynesburg Borough Police Department and Greene County detectives. Agents from the Attorney General’s office Region 5 Strike Force assist task force officers.
