SWIM LESSONS – The Greene County Dept. of Recreation announced the following dates for swimming lesson signups: June 11, Foundation Coal Aquatic Center in Waynesburg; June 16, Wana B Park in Carmichaels; and June 18, Monview Park in Greensboro. RUMMAGE SALE – Assisted Living of Evergreen will hold a rummage sale Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. A wide variety of items will be available. YARD SALE – Servant Song Ministries will hold its 3rd annual “Charity Yard Sale” Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day. The sale includes over 1,000 items including donated estate items, jewelry, furniture, tools, kitchen items, kids stuff, sporting goods, and more. There will be lots of food and fun for everyone. CRAFT SHOW – “Ladies Day Out,” a special craft and vendor show, will be held at the Greene County Fairgrounds on Sunday, June 8 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The event will feature many vendors selling a variety of crafts and wares. AEROBICS CLASSES – Greene County Dept. of Recreation Aerobics Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday in the 4-H Building at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Pilates are held at 5 p.m. with Aerobics at 6. For more information, call 724-852-5323.
COMMUNITY PICNIC – The seventh annual Carmichaels Community Day Picnic will be held on June 7 from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. at Wana B Park in Carmichaels. This annual community picnic, sponsored by Carmichaels Communities That Care, features a variety of foods, activities, contests, and games. There will be a small admission charge for those attending this year, and admission will include a free lunch, free chance at local business raffles and bicycles, and free swimming to the first 200 in attendance. FREE CONCERT – Peaceful Springs Pay Lake in Rices Landing will hold the third annual “Pickin’ by the Pond “outdoor concert on Saturday, June 7 from 12 – 9 p.m. The free event will feature a number of musical performances, crafts, hayrides, home cooked food, a bonfire, kids’ games and more. VBS EVENT – The First Christian Church of Waynesburg invites children to Vacation Bible School with the theme, “Avalanche Ranch, a Wild Ride Through God’s World,” Sunday – Friday, June 8 – 13 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. each evening.
