Gazella “Gizzy” Sabo Baker, age 78, a 45-year resident of Upper Deerfield Township, New Jersey, who previously had resided in… Gazella “Gizzy” Sabo Baker, age 78, a 45-year resident of Upper Deerfield Township, New Jersey, who previously had resided in Shiloh, New Jersey, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, in her home with her loving family beside her. Gazella had been in declining health for the past 19 months.

She was born April 1, 1930, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of James Sabo and Julia Semonski Sabo.

Mrs. Baker was a loving homemaker and had been previously employed with the former Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton.

She was a Deaconess in her beloved church, the Pearl Street Baptist Church, where she loved to serve.

She enjoyed singing in the Church Choir, her family, cooking, gardening, helping others and witnessing her love for the Lord.

She was very fun loving, enjoyed life and has touched hundreds of people with her love in her lifetime!

She will be greatly missed by her family, her friends and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her and knowing her!

She was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Melody Lynn Baker, a sister, Marjorie Burris, and seven brothers, Emory Sabo, Bertrum Sabo, Steven Sabo, George “Bruce” Sabo, Albert “Gabby” Sabo, Zoltan Sabo and Eugene Sabo.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Harley Baker; son, Harley Baker Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Bridgeton, New Jersey; two granddaughters: Heather Baker and Hillary Baker; three sisters: Julia Frazier and Marian Neel both of Brownsville, Pennsylvania, and Elizabeth (Bershi) Hoffstot of Boca Raton, Florida; two brothers: Julius “Sonny” Sabo and William “Bill” Sabo both of Brownsville, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews from Massachusetts to Florida and in between.

Friends called at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, New Jersey, on Friday, May 30, 2008, from 1 until 2 p.m. Funeral Services began at 2 p.m.

Burial took place in Laurel Lawn Cemetery, Upper Deerfield Township.

The Family requests that contributions in Mrs. Baker’s memory be made to the Pearl Street Baptist Church, 139 North Pearl Street, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
