Fire destroys North Union home

Fire destroyed a house in North Union Township Monday morning. An official at the 911 center said the call came in at 7:30 a.m. Initially, firefighters from North Union Township, West Leisenring, Hopwood, Dunbar and Morrell responded. Assistance was later received from firefighters from Uniontown, Dawson, Connellsville Township, Flatwoods and Farmington.

The house is located on Maple Street in the Youngstown patch.

According to a Red Cross spokesman, the agency responded and provided assistance with food, clothing and shelter to two adults, ages 77 and 35.

The names of the owner and occupants were not available.

No injuries were reported.
