Man jailed for alleged assault

By Jennifer Harr 1 min read

A Uniontown man is in Fayette County Prison, accused of holding a knife to the neck of another man on Wednesday evening. Ford Lowry was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment, and sent to prison after being unable to make the $25,000 bond set by on-call Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis.

State police Trooper Heather L. Clem said that James Lincoln, 46, of Uniontown had a cut to the back of his head and a small cut on the back of his neck. When she arrived, Clem indicated she found Lincoln along the side of Route 40 near Lowry’s home at 3 Bryson Blvd. in South Union Township.

Lincoln told police that Lowry held a knife to his neck and then started to punch him in the head around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Lincoln fell backward and hit his head on the concrete as a result of the punches, Clem alleged.

Clem indicated in an arrest affidavit that Lowry got agitated with Lincoln and then pulled the knife. Clem indicated that Lowry was taken into custody without incident.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 18 before Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr.
