Road work announced

1 min read

The state Department of Transportation District 12 will be conducting work on routes 119 and 51 this week, and has issued an advisory to motorists about lane restrictions in work areas. Crews will be working Thursday along the northbound lanes of Route 51 from Uniontown to the Westmoreland County line, and along the northbound lanes of Route 119 from Route 43 (Walnut Hill) to the Westmoreland County line.

Crews will be working on Friday along the southbound lanes of Route 51 from Uniontown to the Westmoreland County line, and along the southbound lanes of Route 119 from Route 43 (Walnut Hill) to the Westmoreland County line.

The restrictions will allow crews to replace the reflective lens on the raised pavement makers on the roads.

The work will be conducted in a moving work zone with traffic restricted to a single lane in the immediate area where the markers are being replaced.

Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra time for travel.

Motorists are cautioned to slow down and drive with caution when moving through all work zones.
