She was… Sadie Catherine Wadsworth, 78, went to be with the Lord, June 17, 2008, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville, Pa.
She was born October 24, 1929, in Mt. Independence, Pa., daughter of the late Reuben Matthews and Olive Fullem Matthews.
Sadie was a homemaker. She was a life member of Pillar of Fire Church and a graduate of North Union High School class of 1948.
A dedicated mother and grandmother in the name of the Lord and a faithful attendee of the New Life Free Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ernest R. “Ernie” Wadsworth; children: Peggy Wadsworth of Lemont Furnace, Ronald Wadsworth and wife, Becky of Lemont Furnace, Donald Wadsworth and wife, Thresa of Uniontown, Charles Wadsworth and wife, Mary of Coudersport and William Wadsworth and wife, Laurie of Lemont Furnace; grandchildren: Jennifer Nebraska, Elliott, Alex and Shelby Wadsworth, Charles “CJ”, Jarret, and Dillan Wadsworth, Tia Wadsworth, Ryan and Tyler Wadsworth; great-grandchildren: Ian Russell and Rowan Nebraska; brother, William Matthews of Lemont Furnace; sister, Mildred “Toots” Lowry and husband, Raymond of Taylor, Michigan.
Sadie dedicated her life to God and her family. She was known as Angel Sadie and as a prayer warrior. See John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Martha Alma Wolford Matthews Yauger, sister, Mary “Pudge” Show and brother, Reuben Lee Matthews.
Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa., on Friday, June 20, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Additional visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the NEW LIFE FREE METHODIST CHURCH, Smock, Pa. A Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m., in the church, with Pastor Dean Griffith officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar, Pa.
