Agritourism Day Camp coming soon
Greene County youth ages eight through 13 are invited to participate in the “Hoofin’ it Thru Greene County” Agritourism Day Camp on Wednesday, June 25. Activities begin at 8:15 a.m. at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Participants will board a bus to visit three real working farms in the area – the Lippencott Alpaca Farm, Thistlewaite’s Vineyards and Orndorff’s Belgian Horse Farm – and will learn about Agritourism as well as how it impacts not only these farms but also Greene County.
There is a cost per person and scholarships are available. Reservations are due by Friday, June 20 and are limited to 40. Youths do not have to be 4-H members to participate. The camp is partially funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Rural Youth Grant.
The Greene County 4-H Council members will serve as counselors. Anyone interested in participating or wanting more information may contact Cassie Coates at the Greene County Extension Office at 724-627-3745.
