Deep Creek Lake – Part 13

By Lori Ann Goodwin 2 min read

From camping to boating to dining and deluxe accommodations, Deep Creek Lake in Maryland certainly has what it takes to make a great place to visit, whether it be winter or summer. According to deepcreekhospitality.com, “visitors to the Deep Creek Area have a wide choice of accommodations, from rustic to modern in hotels, motels, inns, bed and breakfasts, and retreats, as well as condominiums, townhouses, and private homes for rent by the day, week or month. If you’re ready to rough it, camping is available in state parks and private campgrounds. And if you’re coming with a group, conference and banquet facilities await you!

Also, Deep Creek Lake is a great place to come and relax. But if you want activity, there is plenty to do. There is boating in the summer and skiing in the winter. There are tours and white water rafting, ATV rides through the woods, golf and mini golf, go carts, bumper boats, arcades, horseback riding, and much more. At least eight movies are playing at the Garrett 8 Cinemas at any given time. State parks such as Swallow Falls and Savage River dot the area. At a state park or on a private trail you breathe of fresh mountain air as you see nature up-close and personal.

If shopping and antiquing is your thing, the Deep Creek Lake area is ready for you in the towns mentioned earlier and in Friendsville, Swanton, Grantsville, and Accident. Antique, craft and souvenir shops are interspersed with apparel, sporting goods, sewing and embroidery, and toys and games shops.

We’ve left food for last, but you won’t be disappointed. If you want to cook or barbeque, Deep Creek has full service grocery stores, seafood markets, specialty food shops, bakeries, spirit shops and convenience stores. If you’re eating out, you’ll find no shortage of choices from coffee shops and pastry shops to all types of restaurants and delicatessens.”

So, those are just a few reasons why Deep Creek is a Great Place.
