Dunbar couple charged with sexual abuse of teenager

By Josh Krysak 2 min read

A couple has been charged with getting a teenage girl intoxicated and then performing sexual acts with her at a location in Dunbar last year. State police said Kevin Michael McIntosh, 26, of Dunbar was charged before Magisterial District Judge Dwight Shaner with sexual abuse of children, corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors following the alleged incident in March 2007.

His girlfriend, Jennifer Renne Vonfradenburgh, 30, of Dunbar also was charged before Shaner with corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors as a result of the alleged incident, police said.

A warrant had been issued for the couple’s arrest after the charges were filed in early April. They were formally arraigned earlier this week before Shaner.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Trooper John S. Krause, police became aware of the alleged incident in September, when the alleged victim came to the state police barracks to report the incident.

The 17-year-old girl allegedly told police that she was supplied alcohol by both McIntosh and Vonfradenburgh at their home and then, once intoxicated, the couple engaged in various sexual acts with her, Krause said.

The Herald-Standard does not identify the alleged victims of sexual assault.

The girl told police that she never returned to the couple’s home but said that McIntosh was harassing her about having more sexual encounters with the couple, prompting her to report the incident, Krause said.

McIntosh posted $10,000 straight cash bond. Vonfradenburgh was released on $5,000 unsecured bond.

Attorney Mark Mehalov represents Vonfradenburgh. Attorney Jeff Proden is representing McIntosh.

The couple is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12 before Shaner.
