Rita Marie Salim Sisson, age 84, of Uniontown, Pa. passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, June 19, 2008 in Uniontown… Rita Marie Salim Sisson, age 84, of Uniontown, Pa. passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, June 19, 2008 in Uniontown Hospital.

She was born June 23, 1923 in Meyersdale, Pa., the daughter of Thomas Salim and Esther Ford Salim.

Rita was a member of Saint George Maronite Catholic Church and The Ladies Guild.

Rita was dedicated to her family. She set goals of being a good wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. All that knew her and loved her realized that she had achieved all of her goals. She loved to cook and bake for anyone that entered her house. She will be remembered as a kind lady that loved her family and friends.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Harry Dave Sisson on March 4, 1996, and by her brothers-in-law, Dave Sisson, Elias “Lightning” Sisson and Ike Risha.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children: Harry Thomas Sisson and wife Janet of Uniontown, Pa., Esther “Terry” Opar of Uniontown, Pa., Ilona Fecek of Uniontown, Beverly Marie Cable of Mitchell, Indiana, and Rita Josephine Long and husband Tom of Hampton, Virginia; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. Rita is also survived by her loving sister, Jessie A. Risha; brothers-in-law: Jacob Sisson of Uniontown, Pa., and John Sisson and wife Catherine of Washington, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Mary Sisson of Uniontown, Pa.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, June 23, 2008, until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

Divine Liturgy follows at 10 a.m. in Saint George Maronite Catholic Church, Lebanon Terrace, with the Rev. Father Joseph David as Celebrant.

Interment follows in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
