… Walter Bernard Boskovich, age 75, of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Sunday morning, June 22, 2008, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa.
He was born December 13, 1932, in South Union Township, Fayette County, Pa., the son of Daniel Boskovich and Nellie Bollik Boskovich.
Walter was a member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, Pa.
He was a United States Veteran who served in the Korean War.
Walter had been the South Union Township Auditor for 40 years and was retired from Rockwell International (now Sensus Technologies Inc.) in Uniontown, Pa.
He was a member of the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood, Catholic War Veterans and Hutchinson Sportsman’s Club.
Walter loved to travel and enjoyed going on cruises. He also loved to spend time in the casinos.
But his true love was his family: his wife, children and grandchildren!
Walter had the most beautiful blue eyes!
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Daniel Boskovich, his grandson, Keith Roby, sisters and brothers, Victoria Orbash, Anthony Boskovitch, Frank Boskovitch Catherine Bareis, John Boskovitch, Sister Mary Constance, Brownie Boskovitch, Joseph Boskovitch, Albert Boskovitch and Edward Boskovitch.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50+ years, Mary Ann McClain Boskovich; the following children: Danette Kern and husband Dave of Uniontown, Debora Jeffries and husband Mike of Uniontown, John Boskovich and wife Sara of Hopwood and Timothy Boskovich of Hopwood; his grandchildren: Kristi Marhefka and husband John, Beth Boskovich, John Boskovich, Nicole Jeffries and Sean Boskovich. Walter is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ann McClain of Hopwood; sisters and brothers: Helen Surniak of Parma, Ohio, Jean Poticny of Parma, Ohio, Pete Boskovitch of Indiana state, Daniel Boskovitch and wife Barbara, Cleveland, Ohio.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today, June 23, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, until 9 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, with Rev. Father Alexander L. Pleban as the Celebrant.
Interment follows in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, where Military Honors and Rites will be accorded by the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood.
The Saint Joseph Parish Family Vigil Service by The Ministry of Consolation will be held in the Funeral Home today at 3:30 p.m.
