She was born on December 17, 1926, in Masontown, the daughter of the late John and Julia (Vedovato) Tinti.
Jean was a member of the Masontown Brethren Church and the Italian Ladies Club.
She graduated from the former Masontown High School with the Class of 1944.
Jean was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Black and Gold, whether it be the Steelers, Penguins or Pirates. She loved nature, especially butterflies, and enjoyed league bowling.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Marie Woodward of Masontown; a brother, Max Tinti and wife, Mary Ann of Greensburg; three nephews: John F. Woodward and friend, Kayann Grimm of Bear Rocks, Donald R. Woodward, Jr. and wife, Diana of New Salem and Max A. Woodward of Washington D.C.; three nieces: Donna Matoney and husband, Bill of Philadelphia, Maxine Blystone and husband, Bruce of Florida and Marsha Hearndon and husband, Dan of Woodside; a special cousin, Clara Andrews of Masontown and several grand nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband, William C. Brown on February 2, 2004, a sister, Joanna Roth and two brothers-in-law, John Roth and Donald R. Woodward, Sr.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH, JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and River Avenue, Masontown, on Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday until 1 p.m. when Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephen S. Cole officiating.
Burial will follow in Masontown Cemetery, Masontown.
