Joseph Sylvester Valigore, 89, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was… Joseph Sylvester Valigore, 89, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2008, in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born November 10, 1918, in Dunbar, Pa., the son of the late Joseph Valigore and Sophie Mosko Valigore.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann M. Hlastala Valigore, his sisters, Stella Zawada, Helen Chlebec, Mary Adamsky, and his brothers, Mike Valigore and Steve Valigore.
Joseph was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church.
He loved to work in his garden, loved Polka Music, was an avid polka dancer and enjoyed playing cards with his family. A dedicated and wonderful carpenter, he constructed many homes, including those of his children.
He was dedicated to his family: his wife, children and grandchildren.
Joseph is survived by his loving and devoted children: Joseph T. Valigore and wife, Clare of Uniontown, Janet Bonislawsky of Aliquippa, Pa., and Maryanne Oshnack and husband, William of Uniontown; his grandchildren whom he adored: Joseph and Kimberly Valigore, Mary Knosby and husband, Cullen, Steven and Theresa Bonislawsky, Jeffrey, Joseph and Mary Beth Oshnack. He is also survived by his sisters: Rose Vanek of Uniontown, and Josephine Kruczkiewicz of Uniontown; his brother, John Valigore and wife, Dorothy of Ohio; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, today, June 26, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday, June 27, 2008, until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville.
Interment follows in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
